We know it's difficult at the moment, but today SongPath invites you to share with us what gives you hope in these dark times.
Our source of hope today comes from a beautiful memory, captured for us by videographer, Bobby Williams.
Here we all are in June 2019 on a sky blue day at Holy Trinity, Bardsea - the SongPath choir, Mind in Furness singing group & Furness Music Centre choir - coming together with Martin Roscoe on the piano & Peter Foggitt conducting. We're singing our beautiful SongPath Anthem by Michael Higgins to a deeply life-affirming poem by Emily Dickinson. We were particularly proud of our Mind in Furness singing group, some of whom faced huge physical & psychological challenges in being with us on the day. We hope there will be times ahead when we can all come together again to sing this in person, but for now let's connect to it from afar & cherish the little bird that 'sweetest - in the Gale - is heard'.
“Hope” is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all - And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard - And sore must be the storm - That could abash the little Bird That kept so many warm - I’ve heard it in the chillest land - And on the strangest Sea - Yet - never - in Extremity, It asked a crumb - of me.
