Swarthmoor Hall

Swarthmoor Hall will feature in our first SongPath event in June 2019, on our route from Bardsea to Ulverston. The Hall is a 16th century country house set in beautiful gardens and grounds, in 130 acres of farmland. It is known as the cradle of Quakerism. In 1652, Judge Thomas Fell and his wife Margaret provided protection and hospitality for early Quakers, notably George Fox, one of the founders of Quakerism. The Hall became headquarters for the movement.
